Project Description:
The Sedco 709 underwent a dry lift operation where a heavy lift vessel, the Gavea Lifter, was partially submerged in the Port of Saldanha. Once safely ’dry-docked’ onboard the heavy lift vessel towing operations to “A” Berth commenced for execution of the Rig Upgrade.
Our parent company RBG were appointed Project Managers (US$20m).
All the local ship repair industry participated in the project with SA Five undertaking all pipe/steel repairs on deck, inside columns/pontoons and installation of the new accommodation module.
