Turnkey Solutions

SA Five will provide you with an all-in-one EPC solution. Collaborating with the best discipline engineers in the Western Cape we have successfully managed multi-disciplinary projects. Taking your requirements into consideration we provide the best, most durable and cost effective solutions.

Project Management

SA Five has the capability of providing top management teams for taking care of their own projects and for managing projects for others such as shut downs / outages or multi-disciplinary (including but not limited to Civils, Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation) EPC.

Piping

Our piping installations range from large bore municipal water supply to the highly technical subsea installations and everything in-between. We work with the standard carbon and stainless steel materials, and are also proficient in the more ‘exotic’ metals such as nickel-based-composites and the Duplexes.

Structural Steel

Apart from the standard steel structures one would come across on a regular basis in the engineering field; we have been privileged to be involved in the upgrade of the Table Mountain Cable way – fabricating and installing the structural steel for the docking bays and the top station viewing platforms and bridges. We have fabricated and installed a number of structures for offshore production units.

Platework

SA Five has the capacity and capability to fabricate your platework item – from large hoppers / bins, to the most intricate, bespoke items. For thicker plate, typically 25mm and above, the necessary pre-heating / cooling will be applied.

Mechanical Installation

This is the installation of specialised machinery to form a complete processing unit, eg. Naspers printing presses, reverse osmosis units, ArcelorMittal stock house upgrade.

Specialised Welding

SA Five offers specialised welding services. Apart from the regular carbon and stainless steel welding, our welders are coded to weld duplex, super duplex, and dairy tubing materials – with commensurate PQR’s / WPS’s / welder qualifications. HDPE welding forms part of our in-house / site capability as well, with our own HDPE welding machines and technicians.

Specialised Vessels / Tanks

We have successfully manufactured and installed tanks of various sizes and from a variety of metals for companies such as SAB, EXARRO and ArcelorMittal. We have also replaced large shell strakes on tanks in situ during shutdowns.

Plant Maintenance / Shutdowns

Over the years SA Five has successfully participated in and managed ‘shutdowns’ at a number of facilities from Petrochemical to Industrial factories.

Relines

SA Five is an experienced contractor in this strategic discipline, having undertaken various routine / maintenance works over the last 2 decades, also including for Midrex shutdown and maintenance works, and primarily for Corex (melter-gasifier) reline works.

Heat Recovery Systems

Specialised design, manufacture and installation of a double shell heat exchanger utilising waste heat from one area of the factory to power / fuel another.

Draughting & Detailing

With our in-house engineering capability, draughting software, and plotters; we can design, model, and detail your concept from seed to fruit. General arrangements, piping ISO’s, structural steel developments and BOM / MTO’s form part of this offering.

Rigging Services – We have extensive rigging & lifting experience / expertise within our organisation. We have carried out numerous difficult lifts, from developing a detailed rigging study through to the execution of the lifting plan.
