Project Description:
SA Five undertook the Fabrication and Trial Assembly / Disassembly of DMS Plants for the ADP Group. There were 3 separate DMS units – 2 destined for a mine in Hibberdene, KZN; and the other for similar purpose in Brazil. The DMS units were a mix of 100 TPH and 170 TPH Primary and Recrush plant, where their South African Client was targeting the processing of 100,000 tons of Lithium pegmatite ore per month.
DMS FABRICATION WORKS – 2024
The Scope of Works were truly SMPP-centric (Structural, Mechanical, Platework and Piping), together with the usual hand railing, grating, stairways and cat ladders – all requiring safe working at heights and rigging activities. The plant corrosion protection was a mix of coastal and inland painting specifications to the Client requirements and colours, as well as hot dip galvanising for the walkway elements. Stainless Steel platework items were also fabricated, and subsequently ‘cleaned’ via pickling and passivation.
Most of the bins, chutes and underpans (for vibrating screens), as well as some of the piping, were lined with the appropriate wear protection (Chemical Cure, Linard, Linatex, Wearlock, Ceramic tiles – as specified by ADP). The units were safely disassembled and packed for local and shipping distribution – with the assistance of a specialised packaging sub-contractor
